Panda Loves Noodles

What do you do when you love noodles so much but you’re a Panda that should love bamboos instead? That seems to be the predicament of Panda Joe in the story Panda Loves Noodles by Diane Blincoe. Panda Joe can’t help but think of noodles in all shapes and sizes whether he is playing or singing or dancing. He loves noodles so much he wants to let his friends know how tasty it could be!

Kids who love noodles can definitely relate to this fun-filled story they can read alone or together with their parents. On the other hand, children who don’t know about noodles can be introduced to this kind of food, and this book for them can be a learning experience about the different kinds of noodles they can taste.

Illustrated through colorful drawings that quickly capture the interest of children, this book is a playful and lighthearted read kids would surely love. Even as an adult, I felt like drawing with crayons or watercolors again to recreate the raw and tender strokes that made each illustration come to life.

Narrated through the use of rhymes, reading the book or merely listening to it becomes even more enjoyable. Children can even make their own play or short drama, taking on the various animal characters in this story.

The simple story of this book is easy enough to be understood by kids while allowing for some deeper layers of lessons they can also catch like friendship, teamwork and creativity. It can even entice them to eat healthy foods.

I won’t tell you how the story ends because I’ve also been curious up to the last pages of the book. Being a noodle lover myself, I just hope there is a second book that’s just as delightful and engaging for adults and children alike.

A charming and vividly colorful book that children of all ages would love to read again and again!
